KCB Magazine joins the expanding list of dead magazines.
08-19-2008
KCB MAGAZINE FOLDS;
STAFF TURNOVER AN ISSUE

   KCB Magazine, a glossy business publication that examined business issues in the Kansas City area, has ceased publication with its August issue. It survived about two years.
   Published by Anthem Publishing, Inc. KCB Magazine will be folded into a new regional publication called "Midwest CEO" that will feature businesses in a much wider area. It is a combination of KCB Magazine and the now-defunct St. Louis CEO Magazine.
     The new publication will cover an area ranging from St. Louis to Kansas City, Des Moines, Topeka and Wichita. Midwest CEO will have twice the circulation as KCB.
  The staff turnover at Anthem Publishing has been very high and has continued to escalate. The three top editors have all left including Chadwick Brooks, Scott Macintosh, and Robert Batterson.  Rebecca Ray launched St. Louis CEO, but left after about six months. Robert Batterson then took over this summer and is already gone.  Anthem Publisher Shannon Shuman departed this summer.
  Anthem Publishing has offices in Chesterfield, MO and Overland Park, KS.

The Kansas City Star
    KCB magazine, a local business monthly launched two years ago, will stop publishing after the current issue and combine with another Anthem Publishing magazine, St. Louis CEO.
   The combined magazine, Midwest CEO, is scheduled to debut in September. Its publisher hopes to extend the magazines coverage and circulation to other Midwestern cities besides Kansas City and St. Louis.
