12-06-2008 LILI SHANK STARTS ORAL HISTORY BUSINESS At one point they were the most famous sister act in Kansas City television. In 1999, Lili Shank left KCTV5 after 17 years as an anchor and reporter and concluded a 25-year career in TV. A year earlier, her sister, Katherine ("Kitty") Bliss, long-time anchor at WDAF-TV, had departed Kansas City for a reporter/anchor job at WBBM-TV in Chicago, a position she held until 2002. Bliss had worked briefly in a public relations position at Sprint before moving to Chicago. Shank was recently featured in an article in the Neighborhood News section of the Kansas City Star for her new business "Voices in Time" (LINK) that interviews family members for an oral history of their lives.
