02-01-2010 DAVE FOGEL HEADING TO WLS-FM IN CHICAGO Dave Fogel, who has been doing mornings at KCKC Star 102.1, has accepted a new position with at WLS-FM 94.7 as its new morning show host in Chicago. He will begin doing the Citadel Broadcasting station's morning show starting March 1. “I think he’s the right guy for this," said Michael LaCrosse, operations director of WLS-FM. "He’s got a great personality, he’s a solid air talent, and I think he’s really going to be able to make a connection with the listeners.” Fogel, the son of legendary Kansas City radio icon Jerry Fogel (LINK), will be returning to Chicago, where he worked afternoons before joining Star 102. He had spent a year at WLUP-FM and seven at WTMX before returning to Kansas City in 2004. His radio career started in Kansas City and has taken him to San Diego, Washington, D.C., Detroit and Chicago. “I’m looking forward to returning home to help Chicago wake up with lots of music each and every morning,” Fogel said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to get started.” The latest Arbitron survey shows WLS-FM tied for 11th place in mornings with a 2.8 percent audience share.
