KCMO'S 'FRIDAYS WITH FUNK' SHOW IS OVER
It has been a staple on Friday mornings shortly after he was elected Mayor of Kansas City, MO., but it now looks as if the "Friday's With Funk" segment with Mayor Mark Funkhouser on KCMO-710 AM is officially over.
The Funkhouser segment started about three years ago by KCMO morning talker Chris Stigall on his "KCMO Morning Show With Chris Stigall."
It was an odd pairing of the conservative Stigall and the liberal Mayor, but it enabled the Mayor to get his messages out as other media outlets were routinely attacking him.
However, a few weeks ago Stigall and Funkhouser had a major
falling out after the Mayor joined the KCMO city council in voting for a resolution chastising Arizona for a new immigration bill.
    Stigall was livid.
Following a heated on-air exchange, Stigall said he was so upset with the Mayor's vote that he was going to allow listeners to vote on whether the segment with the Mayor should continue.
As of this morning, the vote was 72-28 to "repeal" the regular segment (LINK). (The Mayor had it on
his schedule that he was planning to appear.)

"As a standing appointment, "Fridays with Funk" is defunct," Stigall confirmed with Bottom Line.
"If the Mayor requests time on our show, he is certainly welcome. As of now there has been no interest from his office to appear on the show. He can clear his schedule for tomorrow."
