05-07-2009 ABOUHALKAH WOULD GET AN 'F' FROM FUNKHOUSER Kansas City Star columnist and editorial board member Yael T. Abouhalkah has written another column (5/7) blasting KCMO Mayor Mark Funkhouser and giving him grades on how the Mayor has performed in the past year. In a column titled "A Grade Card Worthy of Detention" Abouhalkah gives Funkhouser an "F" for such things as not building "a new agenda with state and federal governments," "make it easier to move around the city," "repopulate the urban core" and "improve the educational system." Did Abouhalkah forget to blame Funkhouser for the lousy winter weather in KCMO? What is particularly ironic is the cute sub-head in Abouhalkah's column proudly proclaims "THAT'S FUNKHOUSER WITH AN 'F." Funkhouser, an adjunct professor, might chuckle over the grade given to him. If you compute Abouhalkah's grades Funkhouser actually comes out with a 1.4. That's a "D" average.
