PETE GRIGSBY REPORTEDLY OUT AT KMBC-TV9
The Web site KCtripod is reporting that KMBC-TV will not be renewing veteran weekend meteorologist Pete Grisgby's contract. Erin Little, who left KMBC to do mornings in Denver, has a Kansas City "out" clause in her contract and is rumored to be his replacement.
Grigsby joined KMBC in 1999 from WTKR-TV in Norfolk, VA where he was a meteorologist. He has also been Chief Meteorologist at WEVV-TV in Evansville, IN. and at WBKO-TV in Bowling Green, KY.
Grigsby received a BA degree in communications with an emphasis in broadcasting from Brigham Young University. He then moved on to Western Kentucky University where he earned a degree in meteorology.
He has earned the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval and the National Weather Association Seal of Approval.
He has been very active in the Kansas City community and heavily involved with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has a son and daughter.
