ROWE: 'DRESS LIKE A PROFESSIONAL; 'TASTELESS, AT BEST'
Bill Mayer, Lawrence Journal-World (LINK):

*  One of the most mindless aspects of televised games are those sideline reporters who grab a coach at halftime and ask dumb questions. Coaches dutifully tolerate such nonsense, but it’s a nuisance.

*  Then there is Holly Rowe, whose low-cut top recently showed her cleavage to the max. Tacky. Dress like a professional and perform that way instead of fawning over athletes and coaches, kid! Cheerleaders are there to flaunt skin; media people should report news, not try to make it.

*   Holly topped even herself after the Kansas-Kansas State title game. She interviewed Sherron Collins, then called to him as he was walking away and delivered a tremendously unprofessional hug, on camera, yet. Tasteless, at best.

*  All the more reason for television networks to cut their costs during the recession by firing those inane sideline reporters. Male or female, they add so little.

Hugging Holly Rowe

'FORGOT TO PACK HER PROFESSIONALISM'
ESPN'S HOLLY ROWE SHOWN HUGGING KU PLAYER AFTER INTERVIEW
The University of Kansas had just defeated in-state rival Kansas State 72-64 for the Big 12 Tournament Championship.
Pandemonium was breaking loose at Kansas City's Sprint Arena.
ESPN's veteran sideline reporter Holly Rowe, who has been doing games for the sports network for 11 years, was seen scrambling to get an interview with KU player Sherron Collins.
She asked Collins a few puff questions and the interview was over and turned back to veteran Brent Musburger.
Unfortunately for Rowe--- and any pretense that she was actually a serious journalist---the camera quickly switched back to her and clearly showed her hugging Collins.
It was an embarrassment for any serious journalist to be seen hugging an athlete or coach, and completely unprofessional on her part.
This is the same Holly Rowe who was upset when a co-worker, Ron Franklin, referred to her on the air as "sweetheart." Franklin was forced to apologize over the incident for not treating her as a serious female journalist.
Earlier reports during the week had noted that Rowe was actually lying on the floor next to a player in the locker room as he stretched; another said she was sitting Indian-style on the floor talking to another one.
"It looked like Holly Rowe forgot to pack her professionalism this week," noted WHB-810 senior writer Curtis Kitchen.

A veteran TV pro told Bottom Line, "My first thought was "whoa !!!""
Another sportswriter added, "Maybe this is normal (for Rowe), but I won't be kissing Frank Martin..."
