KCSP'S WRIGHT MUM ON LATEST BOOK
KQRC LEADS KC RADIO RATINGS FOR THIRD STRAIGHT MONTH
Despite a half-point ratings drop in May, KQRC is establishing itself as Kansas City's radio ratings leader after notching a  7.1 Portable People Meter (PPM) Arbitron rating placing it for the third straight month in the top spot.  KQRC had 7.6 ratings in March and April.
KCFX finished in the second spot for the third straight month coming in with a 6.8 rating after a 7.1 in May.  KCMO-FM, which was the leader in February, was in the third spot at 6.0 in May.
The All Access Web site has all the ratings (LINK).
It should be noted these numbers represent a wide demographic of all listeners 6-plus in the market and provide a good overview of listenership. For sales purposes stations often break out specific demographics.
In sports talk, WHB dropped slightly from a 3.8 in April to a 3.7 in May good for the 15th spot in the Kansas City market. Rival KCSP finished 19th in the market, slumping from a 3.1 rating (thanks to Royals broadcasts) in April to a dismal 2.7 in May.

Nick Wright, afternoon host on KCSP who bragged in April that in key demographics he did far better than veteran WHB afternoon talker Kevin Kietzman, posted his thoughts (6/22) on the latest ratings book on the blog KCForum.net.
"(Bulldog Bob) Fescoe (KCSP morning talker) doesn't like me very much, at least I don't think he does." posted Wright, who writes under the name "NickOrange" on the site.
"In regards to discussing ratings, I found out, kind of the hard way, that what I said last time was not allowed. I will elaborate via PM (Private Message) if anyone is really interested, but suffice it to say, good or bad, I'm not going to be doing much more rating discussion on the air. But, in short, April was slightly better than May, but not in a terribly significant way."
