KSHB-TV CONTINUES TO EXHIBIT STRONG RATINGS GROWTH FOLLOWING THE RECENTLY COMPLETED NOVEMBER RATINGS PERIOD NBC Action News is now the number two newscast at 6:00 p.m. Kansas City, Missouri – KSHB-TV, Kansas City’s NBC Action News Station, now has the #2 newscast in the Kansas City market following the recently completed November Nielsen ratings period. NBC Action News at 6:00 p.m. delivered at 6.49 household rating and an 11.4 share, beating KCTV by 30 percent and WDAF by 13 percent. KSHB has now reached or surpassed competitors WDAF and KCTV in nearly every newscast. “I’m really pleased viewers are turning to the station more frequently and recognizing the quality and hard work of our news team. NBC Action News beat WDAF in every evening newscast
The newly created 4:30 a.m. news was up nearly 500 PERCENT above last year’s number
NBC Action News at 5:00 a.m. beat KCTV from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. and was up more than 30 PERCENT over last year’s share.This is the highest NBC Action News at 5:00 a.m. has been since February 2005.
NBC Action News at 6:00 a.m. beat KCTV, and was up more than 40 PERCENT over last year’s share and it’s the highest it’s been since January 2004
NBC Action News at 5:00 p.m. was third in the market, finishing a microscopic 0.03 of a rating point out of second place
NBC Action News at 10:00 p.m. was the only late newscast to see growth. All other Kansas City news stations lost rating and share at 10:00 p.m.
NBC Action News Weekend Today was up on both Saturday (50% in share) and Sunday (25% in share)
