TOM LAWRENCE OUT AT FOX4 Tom Lawrence, an award-winning journalist who joined WDAF-TV4 in 2000, has parted ways with the station. No official reason was provided although it is believed his contract was not renewed at the FOX affiliate. Lawrence most recently anchored the weekend morning and evening newscasts and worked as a weekday nightside reporter. Before joining FOX 4 he was an evening anchor for KSHB-TV41 in Kansas City. During his extensive broadcast career he has done anchoring and reporting at WSYX-TV in Columbus, Ohio; KNSD-TV in San Diego, California; KHJ-TV in Los Angeles; KFMB-TV in San Diego, and WITI-TV in Milwaukee. Lawrence has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including an Emmy for Best Anchor in 1997. In addition, he has received an Emmy for Outstanding Program Achievement, two Certificates of Excellence from the Los Angeles Press Club, a Golden Mike for Best Interview Program, the Milwaukee Consumer League�s 1994 "Man of the Year" and two Kansas City Press Club Awards.
