Pete Grigsby explains the radio business to a high school student. (Photo credit: Adam Vogler, Examiner)

EX-KMBC METEOROLOGIST NOW FOCUSING ON RADIO STATION
He was the weekend meteorologist for years at KMBC-TV9, but nowadays Pete Grigsby is the person responsible for the development of a new radio station at "BSSD"---Blue Springs School District Radio--- with students from Blue Springs High School and Blue Springs South High School.
Grigsby, who left the ABC affiliate in 2008, teaches earth sciences and meteorology and is also the driving force for the new radio station, which broadcasts 24/7, either by students or by automation.

"I'm loving this new job and TV is becoming a faded memory," Grigsby told Bottom Line. "I never dreamed that working with high school kids would bring such enjoyment. I am truly blessed with working for BSSD."
From 3-8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, students man the board. On Sundays it's straight classical featuring a massive catalog of music donated by Grigsby's former co-worker, Bryan Busby, meteorologist at Channel 9.
Jeff Martin of the Independence Examiner has written an informative article on the new station
