06-10-2009 PFLAUM'S FILTHY RANT YANKED FROM PITCH SITE Love him or hate him, you have to hand it to Tony Botello of tonyskansascity.com. He loves to poke "journalists" when they act like 10-year-olds and publicly show their biases. It now looks like Nadia Pflaum of the Pitch has landed in that category. Botello came across a foul rant on the Facebook page of Pflaum where she dropped numerous F-bombs aimed at the Power & Light District, Cordish and AEG. After he posted her filthy diatribe she then wrote a column on the Pitch's site saying she did not regret her Facebook remarks. Remarkably, she then went off on another obscene rant, this time against white flight, rich people, etc. After her rant appeared on the Pitch's blog it remarkably disappeared. Funny how those links suddenly go bad! Unfortunately for Pflaum, who has pretty much lost any journalistic credibility she had, Botello had much of her rant already on his site (http://tonyskansascity.com/). Unfortunately Pitch editors cannot erase stories off Botello's site. Pflaum recently wrote an in-depth and fascinating piece prior to the execution of Dennis Skillacorn. It now looks like her credibility has been executed.
06-11-2009 JOURNOS: IT'S A DIFFERENT WORLD TODAY
"Journalists have always had personal opinions and it has shown in the subjects they write about and how they write it. We just never had the forum that allowed us to see their biases. "If I were a journalist I would stay away from twitter, facebook and all other social media sites. You only hurt your credibility by writing your opinions on various subjects. If you will have to cover that subject later you will always be accused of bias. "Journalists need to learn we are in a different world today and they cannot be both a blogger and journalist at the same time. I know there are people out there skewering Tony or Hearne for posting these things but in the long run it helps us see that "Journalism" is not as pure as the driven snow that most media outlets told us it was." --- Jeff--Gladstone
