PISANO TALKS CANDIDLY ABOUT BEING LET GO AT KCTV5

In the TV business Chris Pisano has a reputation of being a "good guy"---even when the cameras are off.
That is not always the case in the cutthroat media business.
It was recently announced here that the morning show co-host on "More in the Mornings" with Dana Wright will be departing the station after seven years.  His last day on the air will be May 10.
He will be leaving, but fully admits it is not by his choice.

"I've never been a secretive kind of guy and I don't much care for the 'cloak and dagger' aspects of office politics," Pisano told Bottom Line. "In that light, I'll be completely open with you.
"Yes, it is true I'm leaving KCTV5 - but not by choice."
Pisano says while the move was not a total surprise, he did not receive the official word of his termination until Wednesday (3/10).  "To be clear, I hold no ill-will towards KCTV5," he says.
"All things considered, my family and I would prefer to stay in the Metro as we have made many good friends over the last 7+ years... both personally and professionally," he notes.
Pisano says that all four of his young children were born in Kansas City--his oldest is in the first grade; his youngest just celebrated his 1st Birthday---and he would like to stay here.
But, he knows the TV business is a transient one. He is also a realist.
"For the first time (in his TV career), I have a wife and four young children to worry about. This is a bad time, not just for me, but millions of others who find themselves in the same position - facing unemployment," he says.
   The future?
"I'm not going to take anything off the table at this point. That may mean transitioning into PR/Communications/   Marketing or continuing in Broadcasting," he says. "As you can imagine, everything is pretty raw right now and it will take some time to get my life restructured. I welcome any and all help and I look forward to the day when the 'dust has settled.'
"Finally, I sincerely thank everyone who's sent me well wishes," he concluded. "They are very much appreciated."

KATY HORNEY
"Have you ever considered that the reason for your poor ratings is not Chris Pisano, but instead the pain in the butt Katy Horney. I have tuned your station out completely.
  "
And why call it news? Why not call it the weather? That is all you talk about."
