GODSEY ADDRESSES PROTESTERS OUTSIDE KMBC
Give credit to KMBC-TV9 General Manager Wayne Godsey for taking the time to address protesters outside the station (6/25), who were upset by parent company ABC allegedly providing unbalanced coverage of President Obama's healthcare program.
Godsey, who has risen through the TV ranks via the news side rather than the business side, stood in the oppressive heat and calmly answered questions fired at him.
KMBC Reporter Jim Flink also did a news story about the protest for the station.
The group of more than 60 protesters met on the street outside KMBCs studios in Kansas City to promote free market health care, and protest the ABC special "Prescription for America" that aired Wednesday night.
The station went so far to even provide water for those in the hot sun and 90+ degree temperatures.
The Kansas City Star ignored the protest and the entire Obama healthcare debate in its (6/25) print edition,       (Credit to Kansas Meadowlark for video.)

FEEDBACK:
"In fairness to The Star I ask did any other local media cover the protest like Ch. 5 or 41? No. I think KMBC sort of owed it some coverage since it was about them."
"Actually, Channel 41 did cover the event with a (very) short story and a news clip.  Maybe 10 seconds, tops.  Kudos to them for covering it; it was giving publicity to a competitor."  (LINK)
