06-09-2010/06-11-2010 KSHB'S 'CALL FOR ACTION' REPORTER HEADING TO CLEVELAND Veteran "Call for Action" reporter Jenn Strathman will be transferring to sister Scripps station WEWS in Cleveland, sources have told Bottom Line. Her last day at KSHB will be June 24. "I'll be the Consumer Investigative Reporter with a producer which will allow me more resources to do even better investigations," Strathman told BLC. "It will be sad to leave KC. The viewers have been great and trusted me with lots of big stories and poured their hearts out so we can help them save their home. "I hope to be able to build the same momentum and connection with viewers in Cleveland." Strathman joined KSHB about 5 1/2 years ago and developed a reputation for hard-hitting consumer stories. Her ongoing stories about the former Chad Franklin Suzuki's questionable business practices were set the standard for investigative journalism. Prior to joining KSHB Strathman spent four years as a freelancer with NBC Sports as a production freelancer for Notre Dame football and Arena Football games. The broadcast journalism graduate from Syracuse University also spent five years as a freelancer with ESPN and five years with WNDU-TV in South Bend, IN. During her career Strathman has garnered numerous honors, including two Emmy nominations, three Edward R. Murrow awards and an Indiana Society for Professional Journalists award for investigative reporting. "For more than five years, Jenn has been tenacious as she tracked down crooks, exposed fraud and fought for consumers," said KSHB News Director Peggy Phillip in a memo to staffers. "I'm sorry to see Jenn go but I'm happy that she'll still be in our company."
