By John Landsberg I know I shouldnt be so darn sensitive, but sometimes the criticism I receive from readers can sting. As an example, last month a loyal reader, who was quick to point out that he was not a big fan of Kansas State, reamed me over my Michael Beasley column. I had pointed out that Beasley had attended seven schools in 5 years, had no idea where Kansas was on a map when he signed to go to KSU, was tossed out of his last school for vandalizing his headmasters car, and was caught slashing tires in a mall parking lot . What really bothered this non-KSU fan?I never heard about him slashing tires!! Where did you get that information? So I sent him my source.Endof discussion.. Another criticism I often hear is: John, you just give your stupid opinions on sports stuff.Where is the hard journalism?Give us some hard news. Fair enough. Its time for me to act like a real journalist and start uncovering sports tidbits you will find only here in KC Sports & Fitness. I have made uncovered a number of anonymous sources. In the spirit of the great pitcher Sidd Finch, whom Sports Illustrated saidHes a pitcher, part yogi, and part recluse. Impressively liberated from our opulent lifestyle.Sids deciding about yogaand his future in baseball, I reveal scoops you will not hear anywhere else: Michael Beasley told me he has decided to stay at KSU and will major in architecture. The NBA will always be there, but this is my chance to get a degree from one of the top architectural schools in the country; I would be foolish to pass up this opportunity. KC Star columnist Jason Whitlock called me to say he has worked out a deal to purchase Union Broadcasting and will have his own morning sports talk show on WHB-810 called All About Jason.John, I waited for years for any sport talk station to contact me about doing a show,I just felt the listeners in KC were deprived long enough. Alex Gordon of the KC Royals came clean to me a few weeks ago about a new contract he had signed with the team.I feel very bad that I basically stole money from the Royals last year. This year I have decided to return one million dollars for every percentage pointI bat under .250.Its only fair. There are big changes ahead for KSHB-TV sports director Jack Harry, who revealed he has decided to change his hairstyle and give up his flat-top.People have told me for years that a flat-top looks like something from the fifties. I have decided to go with a more up-to-date look and am growing a mullet. KSU head football coach Ron Prince is secretly trying to schedule Benedictine College for the upcoming season. The hell with Auburn and Fresno State, we need to set our sights lower.I think Benedictine will be a good challenge for us. They have a football team, dont they? Chiefs main guy Carl Peterson revealed to me that he has signed a new 10-year contract with the team.I must admit my 20-year plan to get us to the Super Bowl was approaching rapidly. Now I wont be under such great pressure to deliver results. And last but not least, even this one surprised me.KMBCs Len Dawson, who turns 73 this June, told me the station has extended his contract up to his 100th Birthday. What is really unique is that even if I die they are planning to stuff me and keep me on the set next to Larry Moore. The station manager said most viewers wouldnt know the difference. Getting all these scoops is tough work.In the future I will return to just giving myinsightful views on sports issues of the day and leave all the real journalism to others.
