QUARTERBACK ATTACKED BY FORMER STAR REPORTER TRANSFERS

It was a huge sports story across the country that resulted in the Oklahoma State football coach going beserk during a news conference berating a former Kansas City Star reporter over her insensitive remarks toward the team's former quarterback.
Jenni Carlson, a sportswriter at the Oklahoman, inferred in a column
(http://newsok.com/article/3131543/?print=1) that benched star quarterback Bobby Reid was a momma's boy who couldn't handle pressure.
The result of her column was a press conference rant by Coach Mike Gundy that was a classic in the annals of college football (see it below). He said Carlson's column was basically fiction and said she should pick on adults and not kids.
It seemed unusual that the Kansas City Star buried the notice of Reid leaving OSU in two sentences in the sports section (below).

Kansas City Star (01-20-2008):

•Former Oklahoma State quarterback Bobby Reid will transfer to Texas Southern for his final season rather than keep himself eligible for the NFL draft.
