April 30, 2008 (Kansas City, MO) The Freelance Exchange of Kansas City will present its fifth annual Portfolio Showcase on Wednesday, May 14 at the Boulevard Brewing Exhibition Hall, 2501 Southwest Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri.
The Portfolio Showcase is a tradeshow featuring more than 60 advertising and marketing professionals from various creative disciplines, including graphic designers, copywriters, illustrators, photographers, media and meeting planners, public relations practitioners and Web designers.
Advertising agencies, PR and marketing firms, large and small corporations, mom-and-pop shops, not-for-profits and entrepreneurs from the Kansas City business community are invited to meet the freelancers, browse through their portfolios and consider contracting with them for future creative projects and campaigns.
Hours are 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission and parking are free. Boulevard Brewing will make its finest suds available to all attendees free of charge.
"For this year's Portfolio Showcase, we went with a happy-hour format versus the workday functions of the past," says Clifton Alexander, president of The Freelance Exchange. "There's a significant advantage because attendees can stop by after work, enjoy an adult beverage and take their time perusing our members' portfolios. It's clearly the most cost-effective way for them to find the creative talent and skill sets theyre looking for under one roof."
Formed in 2003, The Freelance Exchange of Kansas City meets monthly to offer educational and networking opportunities to those self-employed in the advertising/marketing and creative industry.
