Wedding bells for KSHB anchor Elizabeth Alex.
BLC Exclusive!!

WEDDING BELLS RING FOR ELIZABETH ALEX
It is sometimes amazing the number of viewers who watch whether their favorite TV anchors are wearing wedding rings or not. That certainly was the case for regular viewers of KSHB-TV41's news who recently spotted a wedding ring on Elizabeth Alex.
On Saturday (6/28), Alex, a Kansas City native and Shawnee Mission West graduate, made it official by tying the knot during a special wedding ceremony.
Her new spouse, Alex Drescanu, is from Romania, and that is how the two met.
"We (husband Alex) have been friends and colleagues for many years, as he was my translator on each of the six trips I made to Romania with Medical Missions Foundation," says Alex.  "Alex is a wonderful person, and (daughter) Maggie and I are both really happy he is now a permanent part of our lives."
Alex's first husband, Brian, died in 2003 from esophageal cancer.
"You know, ever since Brian died I have been questioned by viewers every time I wear a ring on my left hand.. of any kind!" she says. "I've really been very touched that so many people have seen me through some very sad times and have been so encouraging."
FEEDBACK (7-02-2008):
I heard that there is a pretty significant age different between Elizabeth and her new husband.  True?

RESPONSE:
There is a 20-year difference in age, but we agree with her views on the topic.
"We are prepared for whatever people want to say about our age difference," says Alex. "It's just one of those wacky things that worked out for us in life."
