Nancy Lewis Leaving FOX4.
NANCY LEWIS LEAVES FOX4 FOR
INDEPENDENCE SCHOOL POST
Nancy Lewis, a veteran reporter of nearly 14 years at WDAF-TV FOX 4, has left TV to take a  position as Director of Communications for the Independence School District. Her last day at FOX was May 23 and she will start her new post June 9.

A native of  Palymyra, MO., she produced "Focus Four" reports for almost nine years before becoming an original member of the "Problem Solvers" unit.
"I'm proud to have done stories that inspire, interest, and make a positive impact in the community," says Lewis. "As Fox 4's Problem Solver, some of the stories I enjoyed the most were 'Emetria's Story,' where I worked with the community and unions to build a homeless woman a house; 'Lemon Law,' a story that led to speaking out for consumers' rights in the legislature, and 'Missing Retirement,' a story that ended with Havens Steel employees getting a million dollar settlement.
"This year, I received my second Emmy award for a story on the real effects of meth on families and children," she adds.
    During her career
Lewis has been nominated for 10 separate Emmy awards for feature and general news reporting. Before joining FOX 4, she hosted "Live at Five" and anchored the news in Saint Joseph, MO.  She is a graduate of the University of Missouri.                                                         05-24-2008
