07-05-2008 ERIN LITTLE RETURNING TO KMBC-TV9 As noted here in May, weekend meteorologist Erin Little, who departed KMBC-TV9 in March 2006 for greener pastures at KDVR-FOX TV in Denver, is returning to KMBC as the weekend meteorologist at the ABC affiliate. She replaces meteorologist Pete Grigsby, who was with the station nearly 10 years and did his final broadcast July 5. His contract was not renewed by the station. Grigsby has accepted a new position with the Blue Springs School District. "Erin is being brought in to mirror Katie Horner (KCTV5 meteorologist)," said a source close to the situation. "She is expected to bring a new sense of urgency to weather forecasts." A native of Lee's Summit (MO), Little won an Emmy Award for her reporting in the field of Science and Environment. She also had stops in Des Moines, IA and Columbia, MO. Little graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with degree in Atmospheric Sciences. She earned the American Meteorological Seal of Approval in 2006. She is also a member of KMBC meteorologist Bryan Busby's "Flock" of weather forecasters throughout the country he has mentored.
