Bogdon's Reception Sticks

Bottom Line:  Hearne Christopher Jr. wrote an interesting column in the Kansas City Star discussing chocolate, with a focus on KC-based Bogdon Chocolates.
We particularly liked the remarks by Jim Greenberg of Union Confectionery Machinery of New York, who pretty much said that since folks don't know what they are eating they deserve the crap they are provided. 02-13-2008

"And while Tom Bogdon thinks Reception Sticks buyers no longer get a confection of perfection, Greenberg says it’s probably not an issue for the average choco-head."

“The average American has no idea of what they’re eating versus what they could be eating,” Greenberg says. “You know, if (Bogdon’s) can save money and still get the product out there, they don’t have a problem.”
