WSJ MAP SHOWS NEWSPAPERS' STATUS, INCLUDING KC STAR
Newspapers across the country are experiencing extremely hard times.
Major drops in newspaper ad spending have cut profits that have resulted in newspaper bankruptcies, closings, and reduced circulation. In the process thousands of excellent editors and reporters have been put out of work.
The Wall Street Journal has developed an interactive map showing the status of various newspapers across the country.  (At right is the summary of the Kansas City Star.)
